After coming to a growing personal relationship with Jesus, I learned more of his love and healing. The words in the Bible came to life on healing more and more.
Personal Testimony
I remembered growing-up, I would always stare at this "mark" whenever I take my clothes off. It kind of bothered me. I didn't like taking my shirt off in public (e.g.swimming) because I got tired of people asking me "what is that or what happened?". I began to joke with a response as I got older by saying, "I got stabbed during a gang find growing-up in the cities". They would respond with their eyes wide and mouth open with shock. I then would start laughing telling them the real truth after-he he! I began to accept this "mark" this as I got older and thank God for the success of this "Appendicities" surgery at age 3. God had a plan, which my mom repeatedly that I survived w/my name "Salvador" or "Savior" (in Spanish).
Growing-up as a little kid (still today), I would get cuts and bruises-calling it an owe! I got a band aid or some rubbing alcohol to help heal the wound. Well, those "owes" become more serious when you get older and it takes more than those overthecountertop medicines.
It was my freshmen year at UMM when I went skiing with some international students at Andes Tower Hills. I got injured from making a "stupid" mistake...more
I remembered watching all those movies of Jesus and admired when he healed all types of people. Well, I believe God could heal me and my faith grew after the doctor told me that I didn't break anything after an x-ray...Praise God!
I can share countless stories of God's healing because I called out to Him. I try to first call to Him before I seek actual physical medical help to show my trust in Him. Then I ask for wisdom on what to do, which He tells me at times to seek a physical doctor. Not only physical healing, but emotional healing of all sorts of issues in daily life.
I personally recommend of reading God's word, which is better then over the counter/prescription drugs (too many side effects). Try it, you never know what may happen, but read it (some verses from Luke is reccomended as the author was a physician/doctor)in faith and expectations!

I encouraged her to read Luke and other verses on healing in the Bible, listening to praise & worship music 98.5 FM, etc... She just called me and said, "Praised the Lord, Halleluah...I was healed...I don't hurt anymore when I go up and down the stairs....There has been sickness (diahrea) from Stefan (1+ yr. old nephew) & Alyssa (4 yr old niece) lately and I got it, but I kept calling upon the Lord to make me better..I"m better now. Healthy Choices
Today (Monday, May 28th of 2007) I decided to add more on this after this topic has been big lately. I want to share the health aspects relating to healing. Diabetes runs in my mom's side and two years ago my doctor told me I'm close to border line-unless I make some dietary changes! I can quickly ask God for healing if I did get diabetes and be healed, but I rather choose to start now and avoid getting diabetes in the first place. The last two-eight years, I've cut down on my sugar-intake (e.g. refused pop as much as possible and cutting down on eating white-rice, which I ate a lot growin-up) and my recent visit to the doctor diagnosed me as not border-line or even close to diabetes-praise God! I thank God for giving me wisdom and self-control to be able to do this and I need to keep doing this in the future. What I'm trying to explain here is that we can avoide many of these health-related diseases/sickness if we just make right-choices!
Spiritual Medication
Yes, you can can immediately go to your local drug store for medications for "quick" (not always) healing of pain or some sickness. However, there are always side effects-physically! For me, I like to go to Scriptures-spiritual medication! This not only helps build my wisdom and knowledge of God's word for future references, but also it builds my faith!

"This subject has been referred to by a number of names: "inner healing", "healing of memories" and "soul healing". Regardless of what you call it, this lesson addresses those hurts that result from events in our lives such as rejection, abandonment, abuse, neglect, insecurity and being embarrassed, shamed, scared, manipulated or otherwise controlled. Our concern is with hurts that remain long after the events that caused them, hurts that have not healed and therefore disrupt people's lives. Calling such hurts "scars" is inappropriate: A scar indicates healing of a wound, and the tissue of a scar is typically stronger than the tissue around it. Unhealed hurts are open wounds that continue to fester and flare up, causing emotional pain and suffering, somtimes physical discomfort and illness, sometimes even serious disruption...
For one thing, such hurts almost invariably arise from the work of the enemy, and sometimes that must be dealt with as part of the healing. Luke 13:11-16 tells of a woman who had been bent double by "a spirit" until Jesus freed her from her bondage. Jesus attributes her bondage to Satan. The account does not indicate that she suffered a physical injury or illness that Jesus healed or from which he made her well or whole. He freed her from bondage. And the bondage had spiritual roots. Although we are not told that the spirit's affliction attended a past hurt, that record illustrates some of what healing past hurts is about. And the experience of many Christians who serve Jesus by helping others receive such healing confirms the healing's power and demonstrates that YHWH*, who created us, is also our healer. Although he has made us self-healing, he stands ready to help that process when we need it....

Years ago I went through a time of painful emotional loss. A missionary friend who had experienced a similar situation comforted me and then offered these words: "In the future, Christ can use your emotional wounds to help heal others." Later, on a trip to visit a missionary training school, I lodged in a place where I saw a portrait of Jesus' nail-pierced hands. Below it, on a music stand, was the sheet music "He Touched Me."
Rarely have I experienced a string of circumstances that spoke so vividly to my situation. In His gracious providence, God used them to comfort and direct me. It became clear that healing flows from the wounded hands of Jesus and that our wounds can help others.
In hindsight, I have learned how God's comfort in suffering can build bridges to those in pain. Paul made this point clear: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God" (2 Cor. 1:3-4).

Last night (12/29/04), I was in a weekly "Homegroup-style" Bible Study. We covered on "Attitude: Faith-Healing", which was definitely a faith building time. I just wanted to get out in the community and lay my hands on people to be prayed for healing! Below are some testimonies of healing:
-In a bible study in 1978/1979, a person was terminally ill of cancer. He/she was prayed for and lived 1 1/2-2 years more!
-A father's faith grew after his daughter with leninjities was prayed for and healed
-a friend had a bowel "untwisted" after being sick of bowel twisted in the 1980's, which the local county hospital Doctor Stock was amazed!

"...Hey I need some prayer. I went sledding with my 7 year old sister, you know being a good big brother. We went down the hill for a while, and then I decided to go down the hill backwards on my back with my stomach facing the sky. On the bottom of the hill was a water pipe sticking out about a foot above the ground, and I hit it dead on with my shoulder, it took me by surprise, I feel bad because I said a certain swear word in front of my sister quite a few times over and over again, I did not break anything but my muscles are sore. After I was home for a while after that incident, I decided to look for some verses in the bible about "healings." I looked in a concordance, and I counted how many times words related to healing showed up and it was 170 times, so I read all 170 verses and I prayed God would heal me, and he healed me around half way, and miraculously I have no brouses or anything from that incident, so praise God, but just pray for more healing because I am still a bit sore. Thanks, Adios."
